About KRZ

KRZ is a full service, twelve person law firm located in the heart of Portland Maine's Old Port district. We represent clients throughout the State of Maine, as well as nationally and internationally.

Our attorneys regularly appear before federal and state courts and agencies in Maine, and throughout the country and abroad, as the case or clients require. KRZ’s practice areas are as diverse and broad based as in many larger firms. KRZ has been a prominent feature on Maine's legal landscape for three decades, celebrating its 30th anniversary in the year 2010.

Kelly, Remmel & Zimmerman has the highest possible Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV. An AV rating reflects a firm which has achieved the highest degree of professional excellence and is recognized among its peers for the highest levels of skill and integrity.

We are prepared to provide you with practical, responsive, value added legal services. We think you will enjoy working with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to work with you.

What Sets KRZ Apart:

Size:

KRZ has made a conscious choice to remain a small to mid-sized law firm. We find our size allows us to deliver a full range of services, but in a personalized and responsive format. Large business clients get the attention they need, but small companies and individual clients are never lost in the shuffle.

Teamwork:

The attorneys at KRZ have known each other and worked together for many years. The firm is noted for its cohesiveness, and the sense of family it brings to the business environment. The firm’s culture thus fosters the kind of collaboration and cooperation that greatly benefits our clients.

Expertise:

The strength of KRZ resides in its attorneys. Each attorney brings to the firm substantial experience in a variety of practice specialties. We do not need to educate ourselves at the expense of our clients.

Trial Skills:

The common denominator at KRZ is that every partner is a skilled negotiator and trial attorney. Thus, whether the matter starts out as a business transaction, a question of employment law, or an agency proceeding, our attorneys are prepared to aggressively represent our client’s interests in negotiations, at trial, or in an alternative dispute resolution forum.

Efficiency:

The bottom line is that the cost of legal services depends on how efficiently the lawyer or lawyers are able to perform the tasks necessary to properly serve their clients. We believe that in view of our size, our ability to work as a team, and the individual experience of our attorneys, we are able to provide our clients with high quality legal services delivered in a highly efficient manner.
