Mike's professional interests are in the area of health care law, employment and labor law, immigration law, trial practice, and Native American law. He regularly represents businesses, one of Maine’s Indian tribes, hospitals, physician groups, physicians, assisted living facilities, and other health care providers. Mike speaks frequently on topics of health care law and employment, and for the last three years has presented the Employment Law Update at the Maine Medical Association's annual meeting. Mike received his undergraduate degree (Highest Distinction) from the University of Maine, and his masters degree (Phi Kappa Phi) from the Edmund S. Muskie Institute of Public Affairs.

Mike graduated first in his class (summa Cum Laude) from the University of Maine School of Law, and earned the Faculty Scholastic Achievement Award. Prior to graduation from law school, Mike served as an officer in the United States Navy and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal. Mike is admitted to practice in all the courts of the State of Maine, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mike is a member of the Maine and American Bar Associations, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mike is also licensed as a professional forester. Mike is married with two children.
