KRZ: Michael A. Duddy

Michael A. Duddy practices law with the firm of Kelly, Remmel & Zimmerman in Portland, Maine. Mike regularly represents clients in health care law, corporate and business matters, labor and employment issues, immigration and physician visas, medical staff relationships, peer review and licensing proceedings, litigation, and other areas. Mike’s health care clients include rural hospitals, federally qualified health centers, physicians and physician group practices, long term care facilities, mental health agencies, and other providers. Kelly, Remmel & Zimmerman is a corporate affiliate of both the Maine Hospital Association and the Maine Medical Association.

Mike received his undergraduate degree (Highest Distinction) from the University of Maine, and his master’s degree (Phi Kappa Phi) from the Edmund S. Muskie Institute of Public Affairs. Mike received his law degree (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Maine School of Law. Following graduation from law school, Mike served as a law clerk to the Honorable D. Brock Hornby of the United States District Court for the District of Maine. Mike is admitted to practice in all the courts of the State of Maine, as well as the United States District Court for Vermont, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mike is a graduate of the Health Leadership Development (HLD II) program of the Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership and the Institute for Civic Leadership.

Prior to practicing law, Mike served as an officer in the United States Navy and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal. Mike is also licensed as a professional forester, and in 2004 was presented with the American Hiking Association’s Volunteer of the Year Award (Maine) for his work on the Town of Cape Elizabeth greenbelt system. Mike is married with two children.
