John Kelly is teaching a seven week “Trial Practice” course to second and third year law students this summer at the University of Maine Law School. Terry Duddy, John McArdle and Robert Crowley will be guest lecturers during this course.

Following a 2-day trial in Boston Immigration Court, Jennifer Archer wins asylum for her Somali client who was severely persecuted by Islamist extremists in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Jennifer Archer’s client, a Rwandan who was active in the FDU-Inkingi political party, was granted asylum based upon persecution suffered in connection with the most recent presidential elections in Rwanda.

Jennifer Archer successfully obtained political asylum for an individual from Burundi who was persecuted for condemning embezzlement by the Burundian government. The grant of asylum was essential to protect both Ms. Archer’s client and her client’s family from continued persecution at the hands of the Burundian government.

Attorney Tim Norton recently obtained a $2,838,383 judgment on behalf of his client in the Maine Superior Court in a case involving breach of fiduciary duty and fraud.

Jennifer Archer will teach Immigration Law at the University of Maine School of Law for the fall 2011 semester.
